Mindfulness for Health Care Professionals – old

A modified course for health care professionals is offered once a year to address issues related to stress as well as chronic pain. The course started on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 running once a week for 10 weeks and is being offered in Kingston, Haliburton, Peterborough, Napanee and Cambridge, linking via telemedicine with Dr. Gardner-Nix.

This year, 2012, the course includes training for those who wish to be an MBCPM Facilitator.

This course is designed to help healthcare providers with the challenges of their profession.  Attendees learn the principles of mindfulness meditation, the importance of living in the moment, and the power of now. We also focus on how mindfulness assists in remaining calm within the challenges of every day life, giving care and interacting with colleagues, administrators and employers.  The course which is based on “The Mindfulness Solution to Pain” by Dr. Jackie Gardner-Nix, can be  covered by OHIP/OTN with a physician referral.
